Phase 2

Message from the Committee

Dear Friends of the Croatian Cultural Garden,

The Garden Committee would like to express its gratitude for all the support you have given in making Phase I of the Croatian Cultural Garden a success. The work began in November of 2009 when the Museum was contacted by the Edward and Catherine Lozick Foundation, who offered to work with the Croatian Heritage Museum in developing the garden. Mr. Lozick’s family came to the United States from the island of Brac. He was born in the US and raised to be proud of his Croatian heritage. Over the years he has supported many Croatian causes, and as the Garden Committee began the planning and construction of Phase I, his Foundation promised to continue with matching funds for Phase II.

Phase II extends the very popular Krka waterfall further up the hillside in combination with the meandering stone and rock stairs that parallel the water course, provide an overlook and seating along the way. It ends on the East Blvd level with a small overlook plaza and the Prince Višeslav Krstionica and four white stone benches from Brać . This monument is a testament to the Croatian nation accepting Christianity ca. 800.

In order to complete Phase II of the Croatian Cultural Garden we are again asking the Croatian community to commit to this project with your generous tax-deductible donations through:

Our Croatia, Inc.,/Croatian Heritage Museum & Library
34900 Lakeshore Blvd.
Eastlake, OH 44095

Help us continue with the construction of Phase II. Help us finish the Croatian Garden. Hvala.

Respectfully yours,

Croatian Cultural Garden Committee
